After spending over 10 years delivering transformation programmes in the UK retail industry I decided I wanted to use the skills I'd learned to build my own business and work as a trusted partner with businesses in the events industry.
But this isn't where my introduction to photography began!
I first fell in love with photography whilst on my honeymoon in Kenya. Not long before we went on our honeymoon I bought my first DSLR camera to, and I quote, "take professional photo's of our trip". my photos were far from professional but what I discovered through photography changed my life forever.
I instantly fell in love with the process of photography, how 3 or 4 people on our safari tour could see the same scene but all leave with different images; a different angle, a different composition, a different perspective, each camera told a different story and this is where my love for photography & storytelling began.
Being able to take those images and share them with others to see their reaction lit a fire deep inside me.
Photography is a gift, enabling people to see things they might not ordinarily see, or giving them information they may not have access to.
This is why I love event photography. I get to create content and share it with people allowing them to experience things they might not ever be able to and give them access information to help them grow.

After spending a few years filming and capturing photos for fun, enrolling in local classes, spending hours watching YouTube tutorials to learn new techniques I decided I needed to leave the corporate world and create more.
I handed my notice in and started reaching out to event agencies, B2B events and music festival to offer my services.
The first job I was offered saw me work at an annual B2B event in London, my role was to capture both photo and video as a solo shooter (a pretty daunting experience for your first paid job as an event photographer) and one that I welcomed with both arms wide open.
I absolutely loved it, AND, the client asked if I'd be happy to become their exclusive partner for all European events, they're still one of my trusted partners to this day!

Over the next few years I quickly built up a strong network within the events industry, partnered with a number of event agencies and working directly with events.
Working across a wide range of events I've had the opportunity to work with hundreds of freelancers, over this time I've cherry picked the best of the best to build my freelance roster of highly talented creatives who support me with all things photography, videography & editing. This is where House of Nova was formed, bringing talented creatives together to deliver world class event content.

Over the years I've seen first hand the value being left on the table when I deliver content for an event.
Creating a single roundup video and a gallery of highlight images is not working anymore. People attending events want value, they want information, both at the event and after the event has finished.
I have so much valuable content from events sitting on hard drives that doesn't see the light of day. Couple this with the challenges I see event professionals face around increasing registrations, attracting the best sponsors and speakers is where the Event Growth Formula was created.
Why not use all of the valuable content captured at your event to create a content library to continue to add value for your audience, sponsors and speakers beyond the event. Turn your single event into a content engine all year round!
People come to your event to share an experience with each other, to learn, grow, engage and communicate. This connection and growth doesn't have to stop when the event does
The most important day for your event is the days after.
